Sigi Hiss - Am 12. Bericht folgt.

In 1966 Joe Heitz did something quite un-American: he adopted the French notion of terroir by vinifying, bottling and labelling his Cabernet Sauvignon from Tom and Martha May’s vineyard separately. It is distinct dark fruit and chocolaty mintiness was an instant hit. Michael Broadbent MW was an early fan, often comparing the wine’s style to that of Mouton.
The 1974 was perhaps the landmark vintage and went on to feature in the Wine Spectator’s top dozen wines of the twentieth century. However, the enduring quality of so many vintages has been proven time and time again. The 1970, for example, which featured in Steven Spurrier’s ‘Judgment of Paris’ tasting in 1976, went on to come 3= in the 30th anniversary tasting in 2006, beating all Bordeaux entries.
Our tasting spans three decades of Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon:
1999, 1997, 1992, 1991, 1987, 1985, 1984, 1976, 1974, 1973, and 1970.
